German is the most spoken and an official language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Italian province of South Tyrol and Liechtenstein. It is also an official -but not majority- language of Belgium and Luxembourg. German has a broad spectrum of dialects, with many varieties existing in Europe and also in other parts of the world. Due to the limited intelligibility between certain varieties and Standard German, some German varieties or dialect groups are alternatively referred to as "languages" and "dialects".
Translating from German can be quite challenging for foreigners due to the fact that the language structure is Subjec-Object-Verb and also due to the fact that German is a highly inflected language: nouns are inflected for 4 cases (nominative, dative, accusative, and genitive), 3 genders (masculine, feminine, and neutral), and 2 numbers (singular and plural). With our team of experienced, bilingual

German is a West Germanic language which derives most of its vocabulary from the Germanic branch of the Indo-European language family. Some German words are derived from Latin and Greek; German also has a few words that are borrowed from French and English. The earliest evidence of Old High German is dated in the 6th century AD and consists of the scattered Elder Futhark inscriptions, especially in Alemannic; the oldest coherent texts go back to the 9th century. The beginnings of Modern German were marked by Martin Luther’s translation of the Bible.
German uses letter-diacritic combinations (Ä/ä, Ö/ö, Ü/ü) using the umlaut and one ligature (ß), but they do not constitute distinct letters in the alphabet.
